One of the most fun things to do with a multirotor is night flying.  It’s easier to see, there is no sun in your eyes, and it looks truly amazing.  I’ve tried many different ways to illuminate my quads, and these Turnigy lights are simply the best thing ever made for night flying.  I’ve flown some incredible distances at night, much further than I would ever consider flying during the day because the quad is so much easier to see.  I use them even during the day for orientation because they will never become just a black shadow in the distance like a red arm will … you will always know which way the quad is facing.  Of course the UFO reports around my neighborhood are entertaining as well 🙂
Turnigy High Density light strips come with 60 LEDs per meter, and the LEDs are arranged in sets of 3. This allows you to cut the strip into smaller strips (there are white dividing lines between each set of 3 leds).  Typically one strip will do two arm plates with a small amount left over.  They will run from a 11.1v 3s lipo and can be powered from your flight battery directly.
